Events at the FNAC

Meeting space and Photo Gallery at the Fnac.
Debates, concerts, signings, meetings, screenings, discoveries, exhibitions… Cultural events all year round, free of charge and open to all.
The Meeting Space and Photo Gallery of the Fnac Forum are located on level -1 of the Forum des Halles, access by escalator from Porte Berger and Porte Lescot.

Almost forty activities covering all areas are available here: audiovisual creation (classes in video editing, production, reporting, musical creation and animation); music (introduction to music, percussion and flute); theatre; fine arts (graphics, drawing, painting and modelling); handicrafts (do-it-yourself, gardening, framing, fashion design, dressmaking); gastronomy (cooking, cake-making, oenology); writing workshops; English and Italian lessons for all levels. Children can learn magic and conjuring, and there is chess and bridge for adults. The Centre also offers lessons and courses in computing (notably introduction to the creation of Web sites) for children, teenagers and adults. Finally, the following sports are available: keep-fit, stretching, tai chi chuan, qi gong, yoga and dance (modern jazz and hip hop).

Devotees of the most varied types of music doubtless know this music library which is the largest public French establishment devoted to music. The lending service offers members a choice of 35,000 CDs, 5000 audio cassettes, 8000 books, 10,000 music scores and 2000 video cassettes. As for the on-site reference section, it presents an exceptional collection including nearly 120,000 audio documents (30,000 CDs, 80,000 records and 800 video cassettes). The listening room has 36 individual carrels. The documentation centre, appreciated by students and researchers alike, offers visitors 500 journals and 1000 specialist works.
The Paris Music Library is also renowned for its specialized dance collection, unique in France.

Exhibitions, fashion shows, and above all workshop activities take place here: music, tapestry, stained-glass window making, drama, fine arts (drawing, painting, Chinese painting, portrait painting) as well as workshops for making and manipulating puppets. Numerous application programs for new technologies are taught here: Internet (design of Web sites, HTML, Dreamweaver, Flash...), DTP. (XPress, Photoshop, Illustrator) and word processing (Word).

This specialized youth library belongs to the Parisian library network and has a collection of 23,000 written, audio (cassettes and CDs) and audiovisual documents at its disposal.
Youngsters between the ages of 0-15 can consult the works at the library, or borrow them if they are members. Events (story-telling, performances, videos, games, workshops) are organized here, on subscription, for school groups and individuals, depending on availability.
